my big little man

I was taking some pictures this morning and glanced over at Teyton trying to get down from a standing position. This is the first time he has ever tried this so I am so excited to have it on tape. I think he did a really good job for a first timer. I'm even more excited because I have been trying to get him to sleep thru the night. And right when I started he learned how to stand on his own, so he would not only cry for me but also because he was stuck. So now hopefully we will be able to make some progress thru the night.

Gas prices have been ridiculous around here, it is already in the $4. We were spending a fortune on gas with Corey going back and forth from work. With his schedule he makes 3 trips to and from work everyday. So Corey decided to invest in a scooter. It is so nice and gets about 90 miles to the gallon, and he shaves off driving time because he can take the bike lane instead of waiting in traffic. Kayla loves it too. Corey takes her on drives around our street when he gets off work. She also loves sending him off to work. She makes sure that he is safe by telling him step by step what he needs to do. I caught the last part of her ritual, it's my favorite. I hope you enjoy.

McKayla and all her friends had lots of fun helping me out in the garden. With all the extra help I was able to finish the job in no time. We even had time to hunt down some lizards. I now have lots of little helpers asking if they can take a turn watering the flowers and vegetables.

We have finally settled down in a fun neighborhood on post and have almost finished unpacking. We are loving it here in Hawaii. There is so much to do and so many beautiful things to see. It is a complete 180 from our small town in Oklahoma. We get to stay here for about 3 or 4 years. Corey is doing great and enjoying the army life. We did find out that he will be deploying to Iraq for 12 months in the beginning of December. So we are going to soak up the time we have together before then.
