father and son stake campout

The boys had a ton of fun having their man time together at this years father and son Stake campout.  Everything seemed to have gone pretty smoothly, Teyton went on and on about how much fun it was to go camping.  And about all the new friends he made while they were out.  The only mishap that they had was a run in with a rattlesnake!  I had warned Teyton about the camp fire, and playing with sticks in the fire, and swinging them around {he really likes to play with sticks}.  But I failed to warn him about the rattlers we have here in Colorado!  Thankfully his Dad is a pretty amazing guy, and kept my little man from any real danger.

girls date and a baby bumb

I had been promising to take McKayla on a girls date.  It has been so long since we have been able to spend some one on one time together.  This was the perfect time to do it too.  Corey and Teyton went on a father son stake campout.  So us girls went out and bought some tickets to see Smurfs 2.  While we waited for the movie to start, we browsed around her new favorite store at the mall, Justice.  We were able to find quite the steal there!  A new cute swim suit for $5!  After the movie was over we had some dinner at Chickfila.  I sure do love spending time with my baby doll!

first day of school and baby birds

I cannot believe how fast my kids are growing up!  I keep telling them to stop, but the just ignore me, little stinkers!  McKayla is starting 3rd grade, and Teyton is my big Kindergartener!  They are just so good!  I couldn't have asked for better kids.  The baby birds that have been growing on our front porch decided that today was their big day to take on the world too.  They are so cute!  The Mom and Dad....not so much.  We see our lives flash before our eyes every time we step out the front door as they swoop and chirp at our heads to stay away from their babies.

two teeth!

It has been a long time coming, but Teyton's lost his first tooth!  Actually, it was two bottom teeth that finally decided to fall out the night before his first day of school!  He was so excited that he would be able to show his Teacher Mrs. Ballard the new hole in his mouth.  When he woke up, he found two shiny silver dollars that the tooth fairy had left him.

new cut for the new school year!

McKayla has been begging me for the longest time to cut her hair short and asymmetrical.  I was worried that {like last time} shortly after cutting her hair she would want her hair long again.  So this time I made her wait and think on it all summer long.  She still wanted the same cut, so I gave it to her!  She is so cute in any haircut, but this one definitely matches her style and personality to a T!

splash park and bowling with friends!

I was finally feeling well enough to take the kids out swimming!  McKayla had finally found another girlfriend in the neighborhood, so we invited her to come along. I thought we would be safe going to an indoor swimming pool since it was raining on and off all day.  When we got to the pool, we were informed that even though they are an indoor pool, they are closed during inclimate weather!  What the heck!  The pool is inside a building, it isn't a bubble or anything like at Surf 'N Swim, but whatever!  Luckily there is a bowling alley right next door to the pool, and it just happened to be dollar days.  So we had a ton of fun bowling!  On the way home from the bowling alley, the weather had cleared up quite a bit.  so we decided to take a pit stop at the splash park and get the rest of our energy out of our systems!  I love having fun with my kids and their friends!
